10 Songs I loved This Month! 01/2017

Here’s a list of 10 songs I’ve loved this month with a lyric from the song, because if you are anything like me, lyrics are a HUGE deal. I’ll also include a small excerpt about the band/artist if I have something to mention 🙂

1. Death of a Bachelor – Panic! At the Disco 

How could I ask for more?
Lifetime of laughter
At the expense of the death of a bachelor

2. December – Neck Deep

I wish I’d known that less is more
But I was passed out on the floor
That’s the last thing I remember
It’s been a long, lonely December

Yes, I know it’s January. This song is too good not to listen to all year ’round.

3. Seventy Times 7 – Brand New

So, is that what you call a getaway?
Well tell me what you got away with.
Cause I’ve seen more spine in jellyfish.
I’ve seen more guts in eleven-year-old kids.

4. Coffee Shop Soundtrack – All Time Low

Should I write myself out of the history books
And mark a place in time for every chance you took?

An oldie, but I’ve been listening to it a lot lately!

5. Use You – Heavy Hearts

Stars in your eyes
Burnt out while you were sleeping
This too shall pass

This song is meshed with the next song on the album which is called Bliss! I just really love the sound from this part of the song. It’s super calming.

6. Steps – Handsome Ghost

Stumbling home we slowly find sleep
I will wake into the brightest morning
When everyone’s gone come say what you mean, for once

7. UGH! – The 1975

My irregular heart beat is starting to correct itself
He’s just a simple diabetic that prevents the empathetic
From being just and giving it up

8. Bonfire – Childish Gambino

I could honestly put like every lyric to this song here because his lyrics are just full of pop culture references and so so so so so many puns. But if I had to pick…

And shit I’m doin’ this year? Insanity
Made the beat then murdered it, Casey Anthony

I started listening to Childish Gambino more because I loved his album Because The Internet, and I listened to all the songs I liked again when his new album came out. I just forgot how much his songs made me laugh!

9. Island of the Misfit Boy – Front Porch Step

Now I’m lost in this hole and I’m sure I am stuck
And I can’t run away ’cause I’m lazy as fuck.
So I sit on the floor as I gather my thoughts
And they’re full of broken promises that only piss me off.

This is an insanely sad song, but it has so much emotion in it that I can’t not love it.

10. Love Your Friends, Die Laughing – Man Overboard

I left my heart with my phone in my center console.
I left my feelings with my wallet and my keys

To sum everything up: I have a very vast music taste, but I tend to veer toward more indie/alternative stuff! I’m always willing to give everything a chance 🙂
